Project Engineer

Role Purpose:

To manage and support engineering projects through the planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out phases while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical, quality, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Engineering Design & Technical Support

Provide engineering support during project planning, design, and implementation phases in all projects. Assist in preparing engineering designs, technical specifications, calculations, and project documentation. Review drawings, technical data, and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Project Execution, Monitoring & Technical Coordination

Support project implementation in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and recommend corrective actions across all projects. Coordinate technical activities between site teams, engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors in all projects.

Testing, Commissioning & Quality Assurance

Participate in testing, commissioning, and verification of systems and equipment in all projects. Support quality control processes to ensure engineering work meets required standards. Assist with inspections, technical audits, and snagging processes.

Documentation, Reporting & Project Administration

Prepare technical reports, project progress reports, and engineering documentation in all projects. Maintain accurate project records, drawings, calculations, and technical correspondence across all projects. Support project scheduling, tracking, and reporting activities.

Compliance, Safety & Stakeholder Coordination

Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable legislation, industry standards, client requirements, and company policies in all projects. Promote safe engineering and construction practices. Communicate technical updates, risks, and resource requirements to project stakeholders and management.

Requirements: 

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

3–5 years relevant experience in Project engineering or project management, Industrial, construction, or engineering environments, IMCS / automation / infrastructure projects (advantageous)

Strong understanding of Project lifecycle (initiation → planning → execution → close-out), Engineering systems (mechanical, electrical, control systems), Contract management and project documentation

Experience with Project planning tools (MS Project, Excel trackers, or similar), Budget tracking and cost control, Site coordination and contractor management

Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (OHS Act), Quality standards and compliance requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, reporting, presentations)
